making garden furniture from recently cut trees?

Sponsored Links:

We recently cut some trees down and I want to do something with the wood other than cart it off. I was thinking about a table or chair. I want to use it in the form that it’s in rather than have it milled. My husband has a chain saw so I thought this would be a great opportunity to use it. We have pine and a polar that I can identify. Does anyone have any suggestions, websites or books that they would recommend?
Thanks!

You must let the wood dry out before you use it. After it ages, here’s how to build furniture:

My buddy lives next door to a man that cuts down trees. He uses 2 fat logs as legs.. and then he cuts a large log down the center (at a mill) and makes indentations on the underside for the 2 logs to sit in. The bench is very attractive, and isn’t bad to sit on at all.
